Mold Technologies
The PIA Western Alliance has presented the professionals from Mold Technologies at several of our conferences and conventions. At our request they have met with company representatives at various functions and the PIA Western Alliance organized an appearance for Mold Technologies at the September 2005 PIA National Board of Directors meeting in Portland, Oregon. We also co-sponsored a Moisture/Mold Summit in Seattle, Washington on January 12, 2006 to further the setting of nationwide moisture and mold standards. The benefits of this technology is unlimited to insurance agents, insurers, contractors, real estate professionals, the government and to consumers. PIA Western Alliance Endorses Mold Technologies™ Moisture Management System Powered by MoldTech®Software
Claims due to moisture damage cost insurance companies many millions of dollars each year. Moisture in homes and businesses provides the fuel for mold growth, which adds millions more to that figure in terms of structural damage and can cause serious health problems for the occupants.
Mold Technologies™ (www.moldtechnologies.com) and Core Environmental Corporation (www.moldsoftware.com) are working with the PIA Western Alliance - an association representing independent insurance agents in nine Western states - to get information to insurance companies about the value to them of a system that prevents moisture/mold damage. The goal is to build awareness and policies within the insurance industry that preventative steps can be taken to reduce insurance company exposure to losses resulting from moisture damage.
The PIA Western Alliance believes the technology developed by Core Environmental Corporation and processes used by Mold Technologies™ are a major benefit to insurance companies and consumers and for this reason the PIA Western Alliance has endorsed this technology. Mold Technologies was the featured presenter at a recent meeting held by the PIA Western Alliance for company representatives. The PIA Western Alliance also arranged to have Mold Technologies address the Annual PIA National Board Meeting held in Portland, Oregon September 9-11. PIA board members and PIA affiliate chapter executives from around the nation attended that meeting.
The engine behind this moisture management system is MoldTech®Software by Core Environmental Corporation (www.moldsoftware.com). This technology, when used to guide the moisture management evaluation, provides a readily understandable assessment of a property in terms of existing problems and identifies issues that - if addressed immediately - will normally not become a claim in the future.
This specialized Mold and Moisture Management System developed by Core Environmental and Mold Technologies™ is taught in the "Certified MoldTech® Inspector & Moisture Management" training course that is approved by the PIA Western Alliance. Mold inspectors successfully completing this training receive certification.
When this technology is utilized before companies insure a property, claims for moisture problems become manageable. When builders implement this moisture management system, liabilities claims will decline. Many of the health claims associated with mold exposure can be reduced. Even properties that have experienced previous water or mold problems can be evaluated with the system to determine if the issue has been properly eradicated.
This technology and system benefits everyone. It provides balance by helping contractors find problems before they become expensive claims. It gives consumers health protection by reducing the possibility of exposure to mold. And it assists insurance companies in underwriting the property.
